About Us
Hartsburg Cycle Depot: A History of Passion and Resilience
Established in Hartsburg along the Katy Trail in 1997, the Depot quickly became a haven for cycling enthusiasts. However, in 2006, the business made a bold move to relocate to Jefferson City, laying the foundation for a new chapter in its storied history.
Before our venture into the Depot, Pam and I embarked on a journey in the world of custom frame and wheel building. This craftsmanship and dedication became an integral part of our store, enriching the experience we offer to our customers.
The spirit of cycling has always been at the heart of our story. Mark, originally from England, was an ardent mountain biker however, a fateful rock-climbing incident alongside Pam resulted in a life-altering accident, bringing an end to Mark's days of riding. Despite this, our love for cycling has endured, shaping the way we approach our business and the community we serve.
Pam, with her enduring passion for gardening, now channels her energy into renovating and bringing new life to bike restoration projects. She also remains a steadfast companion to Mark, offering her support as he works on the bikes that once carried him through exhilarating trails. The rocks that once echoed with Mark's adventurous spirit have found a new purpose, adorning the beauty of our garden.
As we continue to navigate the winding paths of life, the Hartsburg Cycle Depot stands as a testament to our unwavering dedication to the cycling world. Our story is not just one of bikes and trails, but a mosaic of resilience, passion, and the enduring spirit of community.
